Cisco Learning PartnerThe CCNP Service Provider certification is for service provider network engineers, systems engineers, and network specialists who are responsible for delivering a scalable carrier-grade infrastructure capable of rapid expansion to support ongoing introduction of new managed services and other customer requirements.

The Cisco Certified Network Professional Service Provider certification meets the growing demand for professionals who can implement, troubleshoot, and optimize a carrier-grade IP next-generation network. By participating in this program, you will be trained in the latest core and intelligent edge technologies.

Exams & Recommended Training

Delegates can sit in a full standard classroom based training, which comprised of four versions of courses:

642-883 Deploying Cisco Service Provider Network Routing (SPROUTE)
642-885 Deploying Cisco Service Provider Advanced Routing (SPADVROUTE)
642-887 Implementing Cisco Service Provider Next-Generation Core Network Services (SPCORE)
642-889 Implementing Cisco Service Provider Next-Generation Edge Network Services (SPEDGE)

CCNP Service Provider Prerequisites:

  • Valid Cisco CCNA Service Provider;
  • Or a Valid Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching plus have passed minimum of 1 CCIP exam (QOS, BGP, MPLS, BGP+MPLS, ROUTE, BSCI);
  • Or Valid Cisco CCIP;
  • Or any Cisco CCIE certification.

NOTE: If you currently have a valid CCIP certification and would like to instead pursue a CCNP SP certification, visit the CCIP-CCNP Service Provider Migration Tool. This tool will assist you in identifying the exams you need to pass in order to earn a CCNP Service Provider certification. 

CCNP - Cisco Professional Level


The Professional level (CCNP) is an advanced level of certification that shows more expertise with networking skills. Each certification covers a different technology to meet the needs of varying job roles.
