The NetApp MultiStore Administration (NMA) course provides a detailed understanding of how to implement and administer NetApp MultiStore. NetApp MultiStore allows for the partitioning of a physical NetApp storage controller into multiple logical storage controllers. The virtual storage controllers (vFilers) may be used in enterprise or service provider environments to provide secure separation of tenant/department resources and management may be delegated on a per vFiler basis. Each vFiler unit may be authorized to serve over protocols such as CIFS, NFS and iSCSI and data protection and disaster recovery may also be implemented on a per vFiler basis.

Upon completion of the course, the student will understand secure implementation, configuration and management of vFiler units.

By taking this course, the participants will better understand NetApp MultiStore benefits, features and use cases. They will be able to describe the advantages and benefits of MultiStore in enterprise and service provider environments. Students will also understand the advantages of using NetApp MultiStore for data migration and disaster recovery.

The student will be able to explain the security architecture of MultiStore and how secure separation is achieved between tenants. They will also be able to describe how role-based access control can be used to delegate administrative management of vFiler units. Additionally, students will also learn about how NetApp technologies such as FlexClones, thin provisioning and Deduplication affect vFiler units.
